Arranging Care

Arranging Care

It is becoming more common for people to arrange for care at home due to the desire to remain independent and an awareness of the benefits of staying at home. The type of care can range from Personal Care and End Of Life Care. The approach to finding care varies depending on whether you are eligible to receive financial support or whether you wish to pay privately. We assist you in ensuring that the best choice for your care and support is available.

If you decide that you would like to fund care at home privately, you will need to contact the care agency that you select for yourself or for a loved one.

Social services can carry out a financial assessment to see if you are eligible for any assistance. Sometimes your care may be partially funded and sometimes it may be funded in full.

You may be required to pay a supplement towards your care, or a top up. Social services and your care agency will be able to advise you about this.

What to look for:

  • Is the agency regulated?

Private care agencies should be regulated and registered by the Government. The care regulator in England is the Care Quality Commission (CQC)

  • Who owns the agency?

Some agencies will be branches of a larger company, some will be independently owned, and some are part of a franchise (meaning that they are managed locally but follow the business model of a larger company).

No Place Like Home Midlands Ltd is an independently owned business based in Leicestershire

  • What else should I check?

You should be given the opportunity to meet with the company and ask them questions, checking that they can give you the care and support that you need.

Check the quality of the staff. Are they trained? Have thorough employment checks been made? All staff at No Place Like Home Midlands Ltd, regardless of previous experience, go through a rigorous training process; we are committed to ongoing professional development.
